A Message From Caroline Kennedy

Over the past five years, tremendous changes have taken place in our city’s public schools. But in order to make a lasting difference, I hope that all New Yorkers will make this commitment to the schools their own.

Today, opportunities to create real and permanent change in our schools are enormous, and there is a growing sense of momentum around school reform. Together, we can support the effort to transform each one of our schools into the vibrant centers of learning that our students need and deserve.

Donations of time are as valuable as financial resources. Getting involved in your child's education, volunteering in schools and mentoring students, or providing workplace internships and scholarships all support broader reform efforts. There are so many ways to make a difference. Each of us has something to contribute – our time, our talents, our energy, and our creativity.

The Keep It Going NYC initiative fulfills a critical component of The Fund for Public Schools’ mission, raising awareness about public education in New York City and facilitating involvement in the schools. As part of Keep It Going NYC, we developed this website to give you easy access to the tools and resources you may need to get involved in your child’s education and in our city’s schools.

Principals and teachers are changing the future of this city every day. Now let’s see what the rest of us can do to help.
